Amber Lewis (she/they) is an aspiring sustainability worker interested in making sustainability the road she walks on as opposed to the intersection at which her interests meet. With a strong desire to become a botanical researcher in the future, her current focuses include food, lifestyle, wellness, and beauty/cosmetics. Graduating from the University of Illinois, Chicago in 2023 with a B.A. in English with a Professional Writing concentration (and Education minor), her sustainability experience has roots in more community-oriented, holistic activities, which include her previous experience with the UIC Heritage Garden, her current interests in herbalism, the occasional participation in sustainable advocacy. In the future, she hopes to bridge the gap between the community-oriented and research-oriented approaches in order to create unique solutions to pressing environmental issues.
